ABOUT
No career. No love life. No clue. Welcome to my Quarter-Life Crisis.
But I have no fear (alright, definitely some fear) because I am a gastronomic guinea pig with a stomach of steel and an adventurous appetite. So… I will be using food as my beacon of light in my confused state and as a vehicle to following my passion of writing, photography, traveling, all things luxurious, and of course, eating.
Eat My QLC will be filled with food news, reviews, anecdotes and reflections, set in my adventures in job hunting, dating, hanging out, traveling and basically whatever life throws my way. I will eat my way through my QLC, also with the hope that this blog can offer a venue for support, connection and relation for all quarter-lifers, just the way food does in real life. I’d love for others to share their stories as well, perhaps with a recipe or two, or just to stay tuned and remember that there’s still a lot in life to be enjoyed despite the chaos. Life will continue to unravel and reveal itself, and it is best navigated, one bite at a time.
Currently a Brooklynite, I was born in VA but grew up in the Philippines, and at the age of 16 moved back to Virginia to finish high school. I then pursued my BA in Visual Arts in New York and continued on to work as a designer at an architectural firm. My present stint as a waitress opened my eyes to an interest in the culinary world and now dream of opening my own restaurant someday. Or becoming a chef. Or turning into a food/travel writer. Or hosting my own food/travel show. Or all of the above. I have traveled to exotic locales such as Malaysia, Pakistan and Senegal, to name a few. I love both delicious and weird eats, enjoy my martinis extra dirty, and cannot live without chocolate.
I love food. For me, Food = Adventure.
It’s about…
- eating and cooking new food
- revisiting favorites
- trying out weird food
- experimenting with all kinds of ingredients
- enjoying food’s visual appeal
- exploring food within the realms of travel and culture
- celebrating with people
